Hi Beany. The pannier frames are Metal Mule.
When I first got one of the original Tens into the country I wanted MM frames and panniers. The bike went down (with Paul) to MM and he used it for the prototype system. I got the frames and boxes at a good price!

Roll on a couple of years and my first bike got stolen, I got another, same colour but an '09. A mate saw some MM pannier frames on ebay and lo and behold I ended buying back my stolen frames!. Yeah I did contact the police but nothing came of it..

So the frames are MM and I still have the original panniers but the boxes themselves are just too heavy so I got a set of the Magadan panniers, much lighter and with external pockets which suits me better.

I think that there are equally good pannier frames out there. I would suggest Roger at ARD cases as they are considerably cheaper and the frame loop is identical to the MM one if you should choose to have a go with the metal boxes at any point. I have actually tried my MM boxes on them and they fit.

I also have the MTC silencer and the frames clear adequately so any other frames would be capable of attaching your panniers to.

I'm sure others will be along to suggest other frames that will do the job.:024:

hi, what or where are you getting the specs for the ac magneto from? the yamaha workshop manual has it down as 20.8a at 5000rpm unit, to be precise a denso lmx51.

haven't seen any problems in the last 30+k smiles so it seems ok and happy :paranoid:

Hi Bernard,
The specs I was quoting was for the reg/rec not the ac magneto (generator). Also from the service/workshop manual (immediately below the generator specs).
Maybe Yamaha saw fit to use an over rated reg/rec to allow for higher output generator rewinds??

Missing cable

Hi,

Some advice please.

I bought a fazer reg [just in case, currently(!!!) no problems with mine.

It arrived, under 20 from ebay, quite happy.

However, it hasn't got a lead attached: :eusa_wall:

Can I get a connector from somewhere? What should I do now??

Thanks

Jon [feeling silly]

You"ve bought the wrong one :YellowCrazy_J8GDC6: the idea is to eliminate the connector block so you need a REG with the leads coming out of it .heres the link to my MOD . see how the REG has the wires attached http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=19792

The wired one can be found on the earlier FZS600 Fazer.

The one you have (with connector) is off a later FZ6 Fazer.

Both Fazers, but both different and easily confused by sellers and buyers alike.
