Hi and welcome, any good trails around you?

Off road riding was banned in Ireland nearly everywhere by the Green Party.

Looks like my bike will be written off after just 3 days of ownership, not confirmed yet but the rule is 60% of value and the parts alone are coming to over that.

Why you claiming if you just run it down the road a tad?

Why am I claiming? Because I have a protected bonus and the price of the damaged parts comes to over 1900. Which as a mate pointed out is completely ridiculous for a bike that is meant to fall over.

But there is a big difference between falling over and sliding for approx 20mtrs along the tarmac.

The fuel tank is the big thing. Wore clean through the plastic protector/air deflector on the right side, to the tank. The tank alone new is just under 1000. The way they sell it is crazy a complete tank and fuel pump and all ancillaries.

There's a black tank on eBay - 0 bids - 49 - 3 days to go!

I'd get negotiating a deal with the insurers to retain the bike, get some cash and fix it yourself.

That is the plan and I work for the insurance company although in life arm.

Tank isn't holed just scored.

Sorry for you Butt, after reading this it didnt sound that bad.. hope you can keep hold and get it back together, in fairness if you can sort the tank the rest of it is pretty cheap to sort. Get some pics of it up and there are probably some good guys here to give you some decent input
