So am i right in thinking there is a few different "front end" swaps you can do on the Ten?

KTM 450 forks
Triple clamp from OTR

or (the orginal post)

YZ 450 forks
WR450 triple clamp (with adjustment)

Or (this is more of a guess...i tihnk i read it somewhere? :) )

KTM 450 forks
KTM 990 tripleclamp

Or

The whole lot from OTR.....if your loaded! why is it SO much?

I guess its important to remember when doing this you also have to think about brake calipers and discs.

Would be good to try and pool all info together, would make a very interesting & useful sticky? just an idea

I also thought about KTM forks at the beginning but the price was the one rip me off. Now as more I am thinking, and see how everything fit with a little adjustment I happy that I choose YZ. The brake caliper I already have(90 euro second hand from ebay - perfect condition) the disc (single) oversized 270mm including adapter I bought for 150 euro (new). The only expensive think I have to buy is Ohlins rear shock, about 800 euro.
I will send detailed report with pictures when I fit all components.

I still riding with the original 250mm disc. It's ok but It need more force on the lever. I plan to change it with 270mm and think that for my tip of riding(alone light weight luggage) will be enough. I choose this because there is not so many options. Another is 320mm but made in China and I am not sure. Also I am living in Germany and import 320mm from China will add me custom taxes and... How you plan to swap with 305mm? What wheel you have? I am with original YZ excel rim.

That is a top job!

With respect to brakes, there is an option made by an English company, EBC Brakes, that you may find local to you? If not, below is their online shop with the kit for 169 which will avoid customs issues across the EU.

I believe Talon make a 320mm kit as well, but I was unable to locate an example when I performed a quick search.

I have seen one of the above options used on a BMW F650 Dakar with a YZ conversion.

After reading this thread, I'm about to tackle this mod. KYB forks will be just as good and a hell of a lot cheaper than OTR's WP kit!
I think i have all the bits and pieces, but the main parts I have are...
07 YZ450F forks (re-sprung and valved for the extra weight)
09 WR450F stock triple clamps (apparently the forks will fit :s) - later upgrade to a billet set of triple clamps and get a steering damper.

Ramarvarna (or anyone else who has done this mod) can you explain to me the spacer needed for fitting the the WR triple clamps. A close up picture or drawing would be good too if ya can be bothered :). Is it just a flat washer type spacer, or is it a part which will have to be machined? And where does the spacer fit?

I just have a stock YZ front wheel and might upgrade later. OTR's WP kit uses a 1.85" wide front wheel. Do you think the wider wheel will have any benefit or advantages over the YZ's 1.6" wide rims?

Cheers,
Tim.
