Rear tailight wires????
Hi all,
Under my seat I have 2x connectors, One that has a blue + red wire and a black wire coming out of it (White connector). And one that has 3x wires coming out of it. The connector with three wires seems to operate the rear light/brake light. The one mentioned 1st doesn't seem to power any particular light on the rear but does seem to output 12v. Basically im putting in an LED aux light strip to the rear and need to know which one to splice the strip into. Cheers Chris |
hi Chris, I'm guessing you have removed your original numberplate light? cos the first connector you mentioned is for that, it is on the tail light circuit, red/blue positive and black earth.
as for the other 3 wire connector- stop/tail connector the stop circuit is yellow/green and tail also red blue with earth being black. so there you go!, bernard |

hi, you could either splice into the loom or get a couple of small spade terminals and simply plug into the spare connector that's what i would do

Hi stoic.
Ill splice the wirrs in. The rear plate light is still wired up and working so that would be easy to splice into. Wont be getting rid of the plate for awhile. Will change it out for an drc anato/tail tidy when I can afford an MTC :) Cheers Chris |
ok, sounds good, i kind of picked you up wrong{doh} i read into it that the connector was unused, like mine. so, sorry or the confusion. yep splicing is the way to go!
all the best, dont forget piccy's |
