Baffles in or out????

So, my MTC cans sound great, but with baffles in, there is an annoying noise, as gasses are forced through the gap around the baffle and the end of the can, akin to a very loud reed instrument. Baffles out & the cans sound AWESOME!!! There's no weird secondary noise....
So: leave them out & risk angry plod/neighbours, or put them in & risk strange noises?? I think I have a dark hooligan side & I should seek professional advice.....

+1 Out....

I took my baffle out of the Akro after riding with it in for a couple of months.

So much better now, sounds like a proper bike! Also scares the kangaroos away.

Funnily enough I ride a bit more sedately now, as I am super conscious of the noise (remedied by using ear plugs!) and not such a hoon.

Have fun being loud!

I run my bikes in steath mode as much as possable...

Thanks for the answers so far - looks like it could be 90% + for leaving the baffles out!!! I do wear earplugs anyway, 'cos my lid is so bloody noisy (nice Marushin carbon job: VERY light, but wind noise is a real pain...)
Lots of horses round my neck of the woods, so have to pull clutch I guess....

Running a 2-1 Metal Mule (Scorpion) system on my XTX. After installation we removed the baffle just for a test, the bike sounded like a top fuel dragster. With the baffle in it's still very loud, but I haven't been pulled up for it yet.

Out and remember that 'Loud Pipes Save Lives' - just close the throttle when you need it to be quiet in residential areas and around horses etc..

Your engine will also prefer not to feel asthmatic..

Nice. I may well borrow that.

Better than "I wish my wife was this dirty".

WanderingWalton 21-08-13 10:33

Took mine out the Akers and lasted 30 miles before I put them back in. Far too loud drawing un wanted attention for the boys in blue.

Still pulls like a train and sounds amazing with the K&N and cut down scoop!

waynovetten 21-08-13 14:13

I've got Akra's bike runs crap with the baffles out.
