Engine "Popping" question from a new owner

Good day all from cold and wet Melbourne

Yes I have searched but thought I would post it again as I want layman terms

2009 XTR. Done only 1800ks (actually 2000 now)
Exhaust pops when backing off throttle.
Has Scorpion cans and no other mods
I have adjusted the Throttle position sensor up from 16 to 26
Questions:
1) is the popping normal?
2) will changing the AIS reduce it? (am I on the wrong track here)?

Bike runs nicely but the popping is concerning. It's not a lot but it's there..

Thanks

Marc

Yes,,
Yes.

It's great isn't it .... with practise you can get the bike to 'pop' on demand, great where there are pedestrians about, especially the one you know aren't paying attention.

Setting the TPS to 26 will make the bike surge more.

Yes its normal

Not sure on the newer model XTR's but i liked it so never looked into changing it.

God i miss having a big single, but that triple engine is just so nice sounding and doesnt pop but rumbles on the proper over run (i use the gears alot to control the speed of the bike, in my eyes brakes are only there to stop you)
