I've also been wondering about the Autotune module, but never really understood how it works. Do you plug it in somewhere, drive with it for a bit and then it creates a map for you? Does this need to be loaded later? Do you need the autotune module all the time? +++
If anyone has this, please tell us thoroughly how it works :)

I have both a Dyno jet Wide Band Commander 1 & an Auto Tune AT-300, I think the Auto Tune is a great tool if used correctly.

What I have found is you need to build maps under the same riding conditions across the whole map before accepting the trims. I found a nice smooth hill that I could ride at different throttle & rev ranges constantly for a few miles, when I reach the top I accepted the AT trims then turned the AT off rode down the hill then did the same run again until the AT stopped trimming the fuel maps. Once the map has been built I would remove the AT.

If you try & build a map under riding conditions over all terrains you will find the Auto Tune will not be able to build a constant fuel map & the trims will be all over the place, IE the A/F ratio is different going down a hill compared to going up a hill, the A/F ratio is richer going down a hill at the same throttle / RPM then under load going up hill, these differences confuse the Auto Tune.

Is it not the purpose of the Auto Tune, with the Power Commander V, to do real time mapping? Appreciate the tuning will vary, but is it really noticeable?

Does anybody know of an outfit in Hampshire UK who stocks and fits Power Commander units?

what i keep wondering is, is it really worth the extra cost for a few extra HP you can't get to if you use the "simple mods"?
the "simple mods" will get you tops 5hp and smooth out the ride.
the PC will give you tops 7-8hp and also smooth out the ride...
i have spend about 40� on "simple mods" and feel some difference not much (because i did them one by one and not all at once...) so will i notice an additional sensation of smoothness with the expense of about 350-400�?
