thats not what my legs said after i had to push you up that grass bank to then push you down it again to jump start it.

only joking the output is big enough ive ran an XTR which i think has a lower output with heated grips, sat nav, and some extra lights (2*35w) for quiet a few winter rides and never had any issues.

Looking to find a live from the ignition behind the plastic cover of the dash ,i guess the side lights would do ? :glasses7:

I assume the connector in there has 2 wires are they color coded black and red? otherwise how will i know the live ? or does the connector just have a single live .

Hey Spen. There's planty of power for most of the additional items you may need to have. I use the power supply behind the console which is the supply with the terminal that nobody appears to find the female part of!. I just cut off the end and use my own connector to power the GPS, because this is a switched supply.
I have a powered relay which is triggered by the tail light circuit. This in turn powers a set of cheap fuses which power my heated grips, a cigarette socket, a lead for my heated jacket and a Gammatronix LED which shows the power coming out of the battery. I have ridden during the winter and have not had a problem with charging at all.
The idea of the small LED is to show me if the battery is struggling which on occasion has done as it will glow Orange, usually when I've got my heated jacket turned on and I've been at traffic lights, ticking over. A quick rev and she'll turn Green again or I just switch off the heated grips for a while until I get going again.

Hope this helps

The terminal behind the dash is a 2-wire terminal. Black is ground, brown is + (live I guess).

Wow. That's pretty bad. I just read it on there homepage. They are crazy. They charge 11 Euro for shipping to Germany...
Just found the webpages of the original manufactor:

Female Connector Modell 6090-1031: http://swsct.sws.co.jp/components/en...r_s=60901031hm

No need to order expensive connectors ,just use spade connectors and modify them ,nearly finished so i will post a few pics to show you what i mean

spen 31-05-12 13:59

so after loads of reading on here ,i decided the best place to take 12v power from was the spare behind the headlight ,i didn"t want to chop the Yamaha connector so i just cut down 2 spade conectors and conected them to a push fit connector that i had lying around ,you can buy packs of connectors at Maplin :chevil these can be pre - made up ones with the wires fitted then just remove whatever wires you don"t need .I am going to contact a friend of mine at Yamaha and see if i can order the correct fitting to plug straight into the Yamaha one .
