Cracking toy though!!! Dave:002:

I ride a lot with a gal who has a KDX220 for trail and green lane use. The bike was rebuilt for her and it's a really nice ride. Not sure about the KMX - was this the motocross version?

60 miles to a tank. Oh my god... How bad? Still would of loved one though.

Mind you the KDX was also nice... To many to choose from...

Hello to all,from the UK

33 years on Bike's and far to many to count.
But at the moment I have a XR400R and a XT660R
I sold the BMW Adventure last summer after I returned from Morocco..It was far to heavy.
So the XT66R will now be the bike I will use for our trip,s down to Spain, and the XR400R for Off roading In Morocco.
I collect the XT on the 19th March 2007,so looking forward to that.

Here is the XR.

Hi Captmoto.

Thanks for the Welcome.
.
I leave on the 26th March. It sould be about 4500 miles.
I'm riding to Portsmouth from West Yorkshire.
Sailing to Bilboa.
My route from here is Burgos..Salamanca...Sevilla.then down to the ferry at Algeciras.
Arrive in Ceuta, which I have found to be the better of the Port's to arrive in..Not as Mad as Tanger :confused1:

I hope to get down to my first night's camp just south of Ouezzane before night fall.
It's best not to ride in Morocco after dark...To say the least .
Next day it's on to Fes then down the R503 to Midelt. This road from Boulemane to the N13 is a must...
I will be staying at the Camp site on the N13 about 10 KM before Midelt. This is a very good clean site which cost's about 2.50p a night.I found the Camp site in the centre of Midelt to be ...lets say Avoided ...
Now I will fit the Off Road tyre's as this is where the off road part of my trip starts ,and I head off Road to Tinerhir.
Then it's Off road to Zagora, where I will take a 2 day rest in a Hotel.
This will allow me time to service my bike ready for the longest off road section from Zagora to Merzouga, where I can have a play on the Dunes At Erg Chebbi.
From here I will take in a few short off road section of about 70Km before I collect and refit my road tyre's in Midelt.
Then It's a nice ride back up through Spain to the Ferry 2 and a Half week's later.

I will post some photos on my return.
If I had bought the XT before Christmas and Had the time to make it ready ,I would have done the trip on the XT.
I will be trying the XT out in July when some of us will be going off roading in Spain.

This was taken last year. The BM was great riding through Spain,, but FAR FAR to heavy once off road in Morocco.

It take's all the fun out of it..
It take's a better man than me to Take these big bike's off road at any sort of speed ..
