Possible next bike...?
Been pondering re-entering trials after a ten year break, but this time pre-65 style. Went to look at this today...
http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a.../DSC00123s.jpg Greeves TFS 250 Scottish, very competitive in its day (1959). Always admired Bert Greeves' leftfield approach to bike design; cast alloy headstock and front frame section, leading link forks etc. What do you reckon? |
that is beautiful! although i would probably bob it and ride it around every day ;)

Ah, perfect excuse to show off my twin-shock...
Not really eligible for Pre '65... an '84 to be exact (plus I retrofitted a TLM220 disc front end so it would actually stop!) - I refurbished it last year while my leg was still wonky, and it makes the most excellent trail bike - you could ride it anywhere you like and people just smile! http://i492.photobucket.com/albums/r...x/DSCF1350.jpg Jx |
Very nice.

Couldn't get the Greaves for the "right" price - typical tight old Norfolk boy!:sad7:
Still looking for a pre-65 trials mount... Although my brother (lover of Americana) rather unhelpfully suggested I shouldn't waste my cash on an ancient British bike and building a Harley special. I told him to F-off, but then he sent me a link to an image, which I have to say is not at all bad, in fact very nice indeed... erm... I wonder... :eusa_think: http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...portster-2.jpg Quite a machine don't you think? |
Saw this tiger cub at the Dragon Rally in 2011, and really quite fancy one. And an XT/TT500, and a dualsport sidecar outfit, and....

I Know, I know its a BMW but.........

That's nice too, very well specced, someone must have spent a fair wedge building it. Bet it's got a hefty reserve? Unfortunately not sure it'd be eligible for pre-65 trials though! ;)
