Hi all!
Just bought a 2007 XT660R (blue) in totally standard trim, and absolutely love the bike. Should have bought one years ago... I've just sold my old CCM as i was now looking for something more user friendly, which i could use more on road than off, with maybe a bit of touring added in for good measure. Enjoyed the British stalwart but got to the point where i needed more from my bike. Will start looking for a decent sump guard but first i want to add a rack for my Kriega tail pack. Anyway, just wanted to say Hi and look forward to receiving advice on these bikes in the coming weeks. Cheers Will (Southampton). |
Hello mate.
Do u have the kriega US series? If so you can strap the strappy bits to the subframe and make it sit nice and flush to the rear fender. No need for a rack although if ur pack is bigger than a 20 I don't know it it would work... enjoy ur new bike :D |
I had a CCM dual sport too before the XTX, mine had a Suzuki engine. wicked but full of chassis faux pas
:hello: and :welcome: to :660: |
Hi and welcome,

Hi from me also !
Hi, I am new to the forum too however Im on my 2nd XT660 now (2007 model ) as I liked the first one that much ! Gone a bit further though with this one and have a Stage 1 filter, Power Commander and a stage 2 filter waiting in the wings (when Ive got to the bottom of the Power commander adjusting fuel below 4000rpm.) Chucking 47.5 BHP at wheel out at mo despite running a bit lean below 4000rpm ! Picture of my bike to follow when I have sussed how to do it !!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, really appreciate it.
At the moment i just have a Kriega US20 which is has been great for chucking a few bits and bobs in, but i will obviously get something more substantial if i do go further afield. Haven't tried fitting it yet but will try it just to the seat / subframe as you say CaptMoto, perhaps no need for rack just yet. Thanks Boneman for the links too. Eventually i probably will try and source an overslung exhaust but cash won't stretch that far just yet... Just want to give some protection to those standard pipes and will probably go with the Off-The-Road one, seems a good price. First thing is i will be sticking some new tyres on it as the current ones are basically road tyres and the front is pretty shot. I fancy something intermediate and have been reading some good feedback on the Conti TKC80's but welcome any other recommendations. Once again, thanks for the advice guys. Will P.s. photos to follow. |
