Hi mate, saved up for a year and fitted one last week. Very happy.

I posted some photos over at "what did you do your bike this week."

Did 400kms on it on the weekend. Didn't miss a beat.

Cheers, Boneman

Here are the pipes just fitted, they are no longer shiny silver, discoloured a bit, but you get that....

The carbon pipe has lightened up the back end tremendously, much lighter, sounds great & I reckon looks good.

Cheers, Boneman

Does look good mate, :toot:just make sure the headers don't burn the clutch cable just something to watch out for.

Thanks Kev. You would have noticed no lambda sensor... I have fitted the O2 eliminator (resistor type) with no noticeable change in fuel consumption... Fuel light came on at about 215km as usual. No surging, but one episode of scary cutting out slowing down for an intersection :-0 Rear wheel lock up & skid...

PC5 may fix that particular fuelling problem when it comes??

Have wrapped the water hose in header tape since taking the photo, just in case the headers melt the hose. Have zip tied a cover onto the rear brake fluid hose but from what you say I might need to protect the clutch cable as well.

Any suggestions to keep the clutch cable protected?

Cheers, Boneman

Mate we will have another look at it and work on some protection, maybe make some covers etc.
After I get back home that is, oh and when I finish that DR650.

Cheers,

Shane

i had a DR800 that I rode alot in the Philippines. it had a 2into1 T4 setup. the headers used to get so hot I ended up with blisters on my leg from the heat. alot of the time there youre just wearing work boots with shorts.

Do you guys think a 2into1 system would do the same on the 660?

Im currently fitting zx636 wheels & forks to the bike so she may be sitting a little lower. Due to this I thought I would run a 2into1 for more clearance, just worried about the heat on my leg...

Pete that looks pretty tidy mate. how much was just the actual header pipes? I could get the boys in the philippines to make me up a set for around $50-100 but alot of the time they dont mandrel bend anything so theres alot of cutting & welding involved... heres the 2into 1 on the DR. i guess some heat shields would have been the go as the wrap didnt do much...
