Hello

Hello from northern england. im new here.
I'm looking for advice and help with my newly purchased xt660 z tenere.
Only had a couple of short runs on it but like it already- changed from a drz400sm as I got sick of the short tank range and buzz.
Going for a look around now.

:hello: and :welcome: to :660:

Shows us a pic of your bike. There is indeed lots to read, but give it a couple of hours and your knowledge will benefit from a lot of info. You'll be hooked in no time.

Once you are interested in getting some high performance DNA filters or MTC after market exhaust get in touch with me by pm and I will give you a quote including a special forum member discount.

Enjoy the forum

Hello again, will post some photos soon but at the minute it's a stock black unregistered 2010 bike purchased last week for 5250.
I think I got a good deal on it and have just fitted an R&G tail tidy.
I can't believe the over engineered and bloody heavy tail section and will be looking at other ways to shed some weight.
I haven't got the tax disc yet and can't ride it until the first of march and it's killing me !

I'm just up the road from you, and more often through the summer we (Mrs GULGO and I ) can be found lurking at our 'Holiday Home' (Pikey van to you and me) just outside Allonby.

So if you need 'eyes' or just want to see what modifications/upgrades etc are available for these bikes, and you want to see it in the flesh, drop me a PM - any excuse for a run out !

Jollies in cumberland

Well ive clocked up 650 miles since the 1st march including commuting, Honister and Whinlatter Passes, a stunning run over Berker Fell and today we went off roading near Loweswater. Had a bit of trouble in a deep rut but other than that the bike is fantastic. First service tommorrow and more shenanigans as long as the weather holds.
Pictures below but not the best quality as taken on the iphone.
will do this route again.

Welcome & Nice Bike

Welcome to the site & the joys of XT riding.

Great colour, lucky you didn't get a hearing aid. :icon_joker:

I hear what you are saying about the rear end & especially the cans. They are ridiculous. I just yesterday replaced mine on the R with an Akropvic single can.

The factory cans are so heavy, I feel like weighing them. The bike felt genuinely easier to push around the workshop, and better on the road & gravel riding today.

As Captn Moto says you might want to go the MTC cans & DNA stage 2 as soon as you can.

Cheers, Boneman

Less of the hearing aid! Lmao, you only jellouse lol :p

Hi buddy welcome oneboard. You woll love your xtz. Its a fantastic bike allthough many will agree that the back end is horrid as is the low front fender in my oppinion.

I will be changing the tail for an drc anato tail light which makes the rear end look sweet. Have also ordered a high front fender and will in time be fitting a single MTC can! After that my....ahem.....karkhi......coloured ten will look amazing! :p

Enjoy buddy and welcome
