That's an H4 kit - you'll need an H7, which are luckily cheaper!

have you seen these, someone on here did a conversion with it but unfortunately i cannot understand the language they are using ;) I know from my old defender what a difference the angeleye lens makes to the beam pattern...

hi, if you are intending to fit a hid kit on the dip, i think it's best to have it on all the time the engine is running. switching from main to dip can leave you in the dark as the bulb etc warms up.

i wired in a relay with the trigger coming from the lighting relay[44] using the blue and white wire to bring the hid on only with the engine running

as for kits to get, i got a h7 slimline with a 5000k / 35w, as it's a car kit i have a spare, i believe it was under 30

do make sure the pattern is 'flat' and propely adjusted! as they can be dazzling

Got HID in both dim and main light. Changed the wiring in the switch such that when main comes on, dim light stays on: and there was LIGHT!!!

Fitted a cheap hong kong H7 hid to mine in dip. Was easy enough to do. Not considered main as the bulb holder looks to need some mods. Singleminded how did you deal with the main bulb issue?

Now you mention it ...

... I did have to cut some parts of it to make the H7 xenon fit.

I read somewhere, KTM forum possibly, that the UK MOT test will, in the not too distant future fail cars and bikes fitted with HID lights which haven't got an auto leveling feature. I think factory fitted HIDs are all self leveling. Any one know for sure?

Those changes only applies to cars and vans (type 3, 4, 5 and 7), for motorcycles (type 1 and 2) the 2005 regulations are still current.

Here are the current MOT manuals for download...
