Sidi Adventure Rain Mx Dirt Boots
has anyone got SIDI ADVENTURE RAIN MX DIRT BOOTS?
i carry on with my RTW in May 2013, i need new boots, the Moose Racing motor-cross boots i used were good for 38,000 miles unless it rained then they just plain sucked...i could literally pour water out of them so do these new SIDI boots do what they say? Waterproof and comfortable and can breath as well or sweaty feet? |
I've been using a pair for about 3k miles (maybe more?) and must say they are the best boots I've had for what I want. They arent a MX boot though more trail /touring as they arent as armoured as normal MX boots, nor as tall.
Soles are commando type soles and seem to be softish rubber so may wear quickly if doing a lot of walking in them, though they are comfortable for walking if a little squeaky due to ankle articulation hinge. Waterproofing has been perfect though they arent the warmest boot so consider thermal socks if using in cold temps or maybe heated insoles. |
thanks, thats great info, where do they come up to on your leg, you said they were shorter? what you describe is really what i was thinking,less like the motocross boot, a little more flexibility and easier to walk in...and M/X boots are not warm in the slightest

I bought a pair of these at the start of the year and have done around 8k miles in them, including lots of rain and a weeks gravel riding in Iceland.
The only time my feet got wet was when the river was higher then the boot top! Very comfortable, including to walk in, happily wear them all day and evening when camping. Didn't require breaking in for me either. Protected my shins well when I had an accident, convinced if i'd road boots on I'd have suffered serious damage rather than just the lumps and bruises I ended up with. But no they don't offer the protection of a full crosser boot. Agree with mac about the sole being a bit soft, but that's a trade off for the good grip. No major signs of wear on mine though having just had a quick look. Expensive boots, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy again. (Got mine from an ebay seller in Germany, �258 inc postage). PS just a thought . I have the Euro/uk version which is leather and Goretex (and plastic etc) construction. I think the States had a cheaper version which wasnt goretex (shelltex? and maybe lorica?) search Advrider for comments on those as they maybe faring slightly different.

My experience of lorica boots (A/stars SMX waterproof ones) is that they are easy to hole the lorica, toecaps especially if you're prone to kneeling wearing the boots whilst checking bike over etc. Leather seems to just scuff .

Lorica seems the only option over here, don't really want pleather boots, also the general opinion with them here is because of the Lorica, they are the noisiest boots anyone has ever walked in and they have very bad wearing soles, that last about one year or so. so obviously not the same quality you get in the UK

i have the sidi adventure boot and think blloody fantastic.
and protected my ankle when fell off in the lakes going on the 'old coach road' doh.....bike fell on side of boot. NO PROBS. |

These Sidi Adventure boots had better be good as I've treated myself to some. Had a good word with Selina and she recons they are the dogs, so that's good enough for me.
