XTZ Waterpump leak advice

After 16,000 miles I've had my first proper problem with the Ten. Discovered a little coolant under the waterpump housing, and the dealer suspects wear/failure of an internal seal. Reading on here it sounds like this isn't a particularly rare issue with the 660cc engine. The bike's still under warranty so a new pump is on the way which I'm happy about.

The question is: given this weekend is looking to be a fantastic one, and that coolant isn't exactly gushing out, what are the risks of going for a little ride?? Is it likely that the pump will just let go spectacularly, depositing the contents of my coolant tank all over the back wheel, or is a leaking seal something that gets gradually worse??

I'd go riding... :rockwoot:

Have to admit that was my first though too. Just wondering if anyone can give a little techy insight to put my mind at ease

Just keep an eye on the coolant level in the over flow tank, make sure the tank is at the full mark before riding.

Pump all fixed no more leak which makes me very happy. An interesting, and somewhat unexpected side effect is the engine now feels smoother and less vibey. Maybe it's just the weather.
