I didn't trim anything , it got trimmed automatically in a heavy crash :)

now they are fitting very well :)

Had the Barkbusters for 2 years and one crash - still work a treat!

No need to trim the lever, just loosen the bracket off the bars and slide the whole thing a couple of MMs to the right! Has no adverse effect on the lever and doesn't rub the inside of the guard.

I've had a look at these but I'm a wee bit confused when it states 14mm or 18mm? or standard Renthals?

Sorry once again for my thickness but I have came from sports bikes where you order an item that is specifically labelled for a certain model or make.

Yay, my hand guards have arrived. Fitting was a doddle, even for a ham-fisted mechanical idiot like me.

The only downside I've noticed so far is a slight increase in vibrations through the handlebars, but not so much that I can't live with it on my daily commute. I hope it won't get too annoying on a longer run though.

They've done a pretty good job of deflecting the wind and rain from my poor fingers so far; I've yet to test their crash-worthiness ... that'll have to wait until I can find the time to go and play off road.
