soft luggage

Does any one have problems with soft luggage touching the exhaust? cant seem to find any reasonable ways of keeping them off without spending stupid money if anyone knows of a cheap way to keep em off would appreciate it...

I don't use soft luggage anymore, but when I did many moons ago (on a Honda Dominator) I made a shield come rack sort of affair out of an old alloy push bike pannier rack I had lying around in the shed. Cut it in half down the centre line and used each half. Dead easy to bend and be creative, light weight and cheap. Even if you bought a new one to cut up you can get them for under 30. Sorry i haven't got any photos, it was pre-digital age!

I've attached a picture of the sort of thing I used. Imagine it cut in half, and each half turned through 90 degrees and fitted to bike with simple fabricated brackets. Obviously it wasn't on a Ten, but it's an idea?!

The stock exhaust has heat shields so no problem with soft panniers.

I've been using oxford sports stuff for a couple of years with no issues.

Yep no problem with heat.
In fact you have just reminded me - will put some oxfords up in the for sale section later.
