does ** = rl

fu**ed = furled??

is the bmuu now tied up?

or is it fussed?

can't be fu ck ed, could it?

somehow I don't think a broken drive shaft is the same as a broken chain.

CaptMoto 02-10-11 11:33

looks pretty f***ed up to me, that's a new swingarm / drive shaft and possibly mono shock assembly, that'll probably cost him in excess of 3 grand to put back, a write off, maybe?

javahouse 02-10-11 11:50

Looks like he kept it upright though.
I struggle to see what those big beemers are for exactly - except impressing the neighbours or touring two-up on tarmac.
Good lad anyway
Rob

Looks like he had a close up view of the dirt to me judging by the dirt on the front of his jacket, and the front end of the bike looks to have had a bit of modification.
The back wheel would have locked up and spilt him over the top I guess - same thing happened to me on tarmac when the back wheel fell off my guzzi after having a tyre changed - bit of a shock!

Doing pretty much whatever you want from what all the reviews say. Road, trail and track it can do it all.

jimmysimpson 02-10-11 23:09

It's a piece of sh1t. Everyone knows that but few will admit it. lol.

66T 03-10-11 03:50

That's a bit harsh, jimmy! I rode the the 2010 1200GS and GSA before I bought my 660. Liked both, especially the GS. However, the Tenere is easier to manage and maintain and better off-road (for me - there are men who can really ride those things) even with its awful shock, and I love big singles in spite of the trade-off in grunt.

But the big issue for me, having owned three BMWs, is the fact that two of them were ****e. If I spent all that money on a GS and it went wrong I would go off my brain. Big money should mean big quality, but it isn't necessarily so. I was too scared to risk my loot. Thus I can live with the tenere's inferior finish and its few inherent problems. At least we know what they are!

chester0_1972 03-10-11 07:54

Theres loads of BMW haters about. For all the brand loyalists if you stuck their badge of choice on it they'd rave about it. :gay:

mickster1 03-10-11 08:59

that'll teach him not to carry any tie wraps and duck tape:hidesbehindsofa[1]:

I tried a Gs in comparison with a Varadero and the big Honda won hands down. Handling was soooo superior when pushed hard, the Honda shrugged off any mental input. The build quality of the Honda was easily on a par and the price was a huge factor. Like they say, over priced and over here. Oh, did I mention the fact that the GS is pig ugly ? lol. Sorry just my opinion. Anyone contemplating a GS really needs to forget the status thingy and try a Varadero as a machine. The Tenere ? Different kettle of fish, takes me where I want to go with smile attached. Streets ahead of the small GS .
