Lean angle on XTR
I am on my first XT660R '06 model and after a number of Suzuki roadbikes I was unsure about how far over an XTR would lean before any problems given it's a trailbike with 21" front wheel long travel suspension etc.
I on the advice of afk40 I fitted a new set of Avon Distanzias in standard sizes. After a bit of rounabout surfing my confidence grew and I can now touchdown the footpegs and sidestand with no issues.I am not claiming to be anything special as a rider infact I'm a bit of a knob sometimes but the credit entirely goes to the Yamaha and Avon engineers for making the most of their fine products.Oh and afk40 for his advice. |
I have pictures somewhere on here going back a few years ,doing the same thing with knobbly tyres on :toothy9:

I know what you mean mate I snapped my collarbone, dislocated my shoulder and had bad concussion after an accident in July and I don't want to do anything like that again.Anyway it's a great shot and you look well in control.

thats right,, he tripped over a slab in the pavement goin fur the rolls in teh morning
|
I use to be able to do the same on my old 06 XTR by getting the pegs down, side stand and no toe sliders left on the boots. The XTR does handle very well and people just cant seem to understand why as its a big off road bike but it does.
