piston rings
 

Relating to my previouse post, Is it possible that the piston rings could be causing the bike to burn oil? going to change them however i do not have the handbook that seems to be the bible of XTing!

any special tools required?
and what are the torque settings?
any tips on valve timing also?

Did you check your oil correctly, as per the other post?

If the bike is burning oil at the rate you say there would be blue smoke (lots) coming out the exhaust.
