I think I've posted this b4 (many times probably) but I'll do it again..
I've had a Arai TourX 1st version , bought it in 2002 and kept it for long time (think I binned it in 2009/10? as it was over its shell age)
anyways I bought a hornet DS last year and whilst its a nice looking lid I don't think its as well put to gether as the Arai was as I'm forever re-attaching bits of trim liner on the hornet . It also has vents that rattle as much as the arai's did but the hornet is a lot younger so hasnt been subjected to as much wear and tear...
If I was buying again I'd save for the current Arai or look at the AGV/uvex .
PS Peak on the arai is a far better sun shade but that can act like a bigger wind grabber too but I prefered the arai peak.

just bought the shoei hornet DS and notice the peak doesn't act as a good sun visor and doesn't have scope to move forward to be any better.
what has anyone else done as can't wear sunglasses as wear prescription glasses .....thinking i'm going to have to do what the Formula 1 chaps do with little tape on the visor any thoughts chaps....?

also noticed a slight buzz at speed .....have i really got to take the peak off when a motorway comes up.....just put up with otherwise

BTW also have the sore left ear issue....just give it a wiggle to seat better.. . seems to work.

Shox bullet front flip from ghostbikes Amazon cheap but most comfortable helmet I ever used

Love the hornet

I use my hornet for green laning on a ttr250 as well as general riding / laning on the tenere, find it very comfy on the head, easy to use with prescription glasses (though contacts are better for 'sweaty' weather). Cheek pads and liner easy to remove for cleaning too.

Iv'e been using a Fly Racing 'Trekker'. Cheap though well made compared to others in the price bracket. i prefer it over my older shoei. Nice size visor and had no problems at highway speed so far. It also seems fine wearing glasses.

I recently bought an AGV AX8 Dual Sport helmet - 239

http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/prod...dual-black.jpg

I'm really impressed by it. Nice build quality, quiet (in the context of Dual Sport lids) and really light - it's the lightest I've ever had and it comes with double D fasteners which I prefer. It also came with a fully shaped, padded helmet bag.

I think it's just a choice of black or white but that doesn't bother me too much as the only proper colour for a bike or helmet is black.
