Givi screen wobble
Hi
Fitted a givi touring screen to the R, but it wobbles rather a lot. Was wondering whether to add some braces (to stop it breaking the fairing) - or whether to just let it wobble and assume that it won't. Anyone any opinions/experience? Ta Rob |
Hi Rob, I had the Yamaha touring screen (mid size), which came with two little brackets that supported the screen. Not sure what the Givi version is like, but if it's a large screen I would have thought that some sort of support would be added?? Might be wrong?!

Bikes in at the mechanics at the moment but could take photos for you when the bike comes back if you want? |
I think a little careful drilling may be in order!
I bought the screen for a trip to Scotland; without the screen 300 mile days are enough, but the last day, back from Scotland is usually circa 600 and I fancied a little more screen. I think I'll simply put two P clips on the handlebar brace and take two strips of ally back to the screen. I'll take it off straight after... *much* prefer the bike with the standard screen. Thanks for replies though, I'll be happier with some sort of brace with this screen Ta Rob |
Once you have made your brackets I would love to see some pics as I am thinking of doing something very similar and make my own screen out of perspex.
Just for reference, these are the Yamaha screen brackets: http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f3...5/DSC00283.jpg |
