Portpatrick
Or "How to ride 200 miles into Scotland and end up further south than home"
No, yer not seeing things, it really is. http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o...k/DSCF1052.jpg Bypassed the A75 and took the coast road. http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o...k/DSCF1053.jpg http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o...k/DSCF1054.jpg Castle Bay campsite, was OK, mostly statics and tourers not many tents for a bank hol, 10 per night. http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o...k/DSCF1060.jpg The Castle. http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o...k/DSCF1057.jpg The Hole in the Wall, well yer have to have a poke about inside, there might have been some treasure. http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o...k/DSCF1066.jpg You're on top of the cliffs. http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o...k/DSCF1061.jpg And the path to Port P goes along the top with some canny drops. http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o...k/DSCF1069.jpg Or you can take the easy route along the old railway, though this is the perfect place for an ambush. http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o...k/DSCF1072.jpg PortP, full of day trippers but good on a night time. Locals were all friendly and we had some canny banter with a few over the two nights. http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o...k/DSCF1071.jpg Sittin in the beer garden watchin this, Geet Up. http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o...k/DSCF1073.jpg Not a bad wkend, some good roads round Galloway A713 and 712 stand out, good pubs in Portpatrick, and laffin at Trailer Boy. |
Looks nice! dont get the bike trailer though, sort of defeats the object of having a bike but each to their own i suppose.
