drainage pipe full - somone help please :(
Hey there, hopefully one of u techy pro's can help a newb out! xD
so today i realised one of the two draining pipes that are underneath the bike was full, almost all the way up! I did a search around the forum and are now more worried and confused and to be honest not too sure what to do, on my last bike this drainage pipe never had a 'bung' in it like the tenere has... So do i need to remove the bung? drain it and place it back? be worried whats caused it? what to do? :( Heres some pics: http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/7083/imag0005de.jpg http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/7000/imag0006n.jpg Thanks anyone who can help, muchly appreciated! - Ian |
Yep, just drain it and put it back. I think it needs to be sealed to hold the crankcase pressure. The later models after 2009 apparently have a modified oil breather box (has a dimple in it) so less oil to be drained. You don't lose much anyway, but for me (2008 model) it seems to fill fairly quickly on long motorway runs, otherwise hardly at all. Some people on here have had it replaced/upgraded under warranty. My dealer wouldn't, but I don't lose any sleep over it.

So what part might they replace under warrenty? the breather box for the newer dimple type one? So really i just need to keep an eye on this pipe and drain it every so often right? and theres nothing major to worry about as this is normal? cheers mate :) |
Its the box. Info on this thread I think.
