Oil change

simple question, I have a mesh guard at the front of my engine which I need to remove, to get to the oil tank drain bolt every oil change, is it really necessary to remove this drain, i.e. will all of the oil drain from the engine drain only? Just looking for a lazy option.......

and a quicky, does the standard XT660R tool kit come with the allen key for the front wheel spindle, as mine doesn't, ?

The oil drain in the bottom part is very little, most of the oil comes from the frame.

Cheers for that, seems I will just have to take the guard off for oil changes, small price to pay for such a good bike....

As far as I know it doesn't. If memory serves it is 14mm. I got one from a car part shop, it was either for some sort of car sump plug or brakes, just attatches to a ratchet.

They do not come with one. I like Hazza purchased one seperately and is as you have guessed, essential.
