Put in 15W Fork Oil

Hey all,

Last Wednesday I had my fork oil upgraded from 5W to 15W and the rear from standard setting 2 to setting 3. What a difference! No diving, cornering beautifully and better transference of power to the ground.

The spacers made by Kev would probably be a better option, but Yamaha told me that it would affect my warranty where as oil change wouldn't. Some people told me the spacers wouldn't affect the warranty, but didn't want to risk it.

Anyway, thought I would share the news. A really good option if you are worried about warranty.

Cheers,
Bart

The spacers would not effect your warranty at all, some dealers have no clue. I bet you they would sell you after market pipes or filters for your bike.

Mods affecting warranty.
Just to clear up things, any addition to the wiring or any mod to a motorcycle will void warranty of the replacement part, if the mod can be proven to be the fault or cause of the failure of the component.

Have a look at all my mods below, I speak to the Yamaha boys often & they always ask what mods am I up to. My bike is 11 months old still has 13 month warranty left.

i agree with kev, they only replace and sell you oem parts. a few weeks i brought them a new avon ristanzia rear tyre to chenge it for me, but they didn't - because is not an oem part and they only fit their parts. so i cannot bring my parts to them to be fitted by them. sounds a bit silly, but hey, there are other shops who do it
