Handguards

I fitted Barkbuster handguards to my Tenere but now vibration through the grips is unbearable. I think the rigid aluminium spine may be to blame? Barkbusters do have bar-end weights (smaller than Yamaha weights). Any suggestions to stop vibes or any other better guards (plastic?) - Thanks StevieB

StevieB, you dont say which XT you have but to be honest hit the search button and take your pic, this subject has been extensively covered and a little light reading will give you plenty of food for thought.

Kev (our resident tech guru) did an internal weight trick, remove the guards and swap for less rigid type, larger bar end weights, better handle bars, the list goes on.

Edit: you edited your post to say its a Tenere!

Interesting, I have fitted BB's but had to machine them a bit, 5mm off the end of the clamp to bb spine connector as they were just too big. Not ridden with them yet so can't comment on the vibes. I do hope they don't give me any more trouble.

I will let you have my thoughts.

I have the standard Yamaha (made by Acerbis) guards fitted to my XTX and they have proved excellent, tough and practical and quite good looking. They have saved me a front brake lever on more than one occasion and also protect your hands of course.
