Ok Kev has only just finished to design his own 02 Eliminator and of course it is cheaper than DynoJet's one. But this is not the Kev mod we are talking about, this is the 02 eliminator a totally different device designed to stop the ECU self correcting the fuelling even with a fuelling device such as a power commander or a Kev Mod. |
I don't think that Dynojet and Kev came up with the same solution...from the sound of it.
Kev's mod totally eliminates the O2 Sensor, but I'm not sure how the Dynojet one works. With Kev's, you need to program in some fuelling, to make it run nicely. You can also custom map the fuelling in that area, where the O2 Sensor was. This is very useful if you run Cans, or DNA Filters, and High Desert Dyno Engines! (as you have just removed the O2 Sensor). And if you ride on the Trail, or in traffic in stop/start scenarios. If you don't need a PC (Power Commander) for the Dynojet one, then you don't need to program in any fuelling at the area where the O2 Sensor did work. And the fuelling is controlled by the ECU. (a Power Commander overrides the ECU, and adjusts the "default" fuelling) So, isn't that going to be the same as their last O2 Eliminator???? (that didn't work....but it took them a long time to withdraw it from sale...all it did was stop your warning-light coming up on the dashboard.) You can just disconnect your 02 Sensor, and run your bike like that......but I'm not sure if it will do your engine any good in the long run. I would be interested to hear how the Dynojet one fits.......someone buy one. You must need to program some fuelling in, surely? ..but what I can tell you is, Kev's one works. |
ok then so in theory i could have both a kev mod and a 02 eliminator right?

Half right.
My O2 mod completely turns off the O2 sensor, the ECU stays in the open loop state, you need a Power Commander to adjust the fuel map. The New Dynojet O2 controller is a device that sends signals to the ECU in the closed loop circuit, you still need a Power Commander to get the fuel map right. My fuel mod is untested with this O2 controller. |
is it called the closed loop when the engine is up to temperature?
|
Open loop = The ECU runs off a predetermined map at all temps, you can adjust the fueling using a Power Commander or like device with no problems to the desired 13.2:1 that we know the XT likes.
Closed loop = the ECU takes readings from the O2 sensor & adjusts the Air/Fuel ratio back to 14.7:1 & over rides the any & every fueling device. The closed loop circuit normally comes on when you are on the cruise or light throttle openings. So my O2 mod turns off the closed loop circuit completely so we have full control over the mapping & can keep the A/F ratio at 13.2:1 all the time. The Dynojet O2 controller does not turn off the closed loop circuit it sends false information to the ECU in the closed loop circuit so it thinks it lean, but actually it is what ever A/F you have set the Power Commander to. I will get one to test it sometime soon. |
Has anyone bought a Dynojet one yet?
