Talon Hubs

I have sent an email to Talon asking this question but I also wanted to use the collective knowledge of those here. Are Talon hubs available for the Ten and has anyone fitted them to their bike without major modification. Is it like ASV that dont make levers for the Tenere but I still have a set fitted to my bike from other models. I have a set of Excel rims waiting for me at home and I have a spare set of tenere hubs to fit them too but before I do that, I wanted to check abut the Talon.

Thanks in advance.

Adam

Talon definitely have a cush-drive hub for the Tenere - search out JMo's "Hero? Legend? Fool?" thread for any more details, as she had a couple of sets of Talon/Excel wheels made up for her rally bike.

I got an answer from Talon and they said No. I also got an email from Thorsten from OTR. He said they can, they just dont have them on the website. But the rims I just brought will not work as they are drilled for the Tenere Hubs. Was not sure if it was worth the Talon route but thought I would ask. Have the spare Ten hubs and the new set of excels for them so I may as well use em

if you can get Talons, it will cost you your house, car and the rest!

Unless you can use a front and rear from another bike, with Talons, secondhand, but that will still be expensive.

hi, know jenny had a set of talon hubbed wheels, though her front was based on the ktm pattern on a single disc i do not recall them being available in twin disc. when i did mine i also grafted a ktm front end on and modded for a lc4 rear setuphttp://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=14756&highlight=paddy to do the rear correctly the rim centreline has to be moved away from the sprocket.

bar the weight and the flexi cush drive why not just put the stronger rims on? i returned mine to near standard as i like the better brakes, tho using the 18'' rear allows me to kill off all the enduro hoops lying around

and yep the holes are different for trail and mx enduro use, i have no idea why

Thanks Stoic,

I have a set of Excel rims that have been drilled for the standard hubs but before I fitted them, I wanted to get a heads up on the Talon.

All good with the standard ones.

Hi does anyone know if that thread has been removed? It was an excellent read but also had some excellent info within. I vaguely remember some info in the thread about the talon hub and sprocket set up/gearing Jenny used on the 18" wheel. I'm actually wondering if the Talon sprocket set up is the same as a KTM and are all KTM's the same, if so is that what I'd need to know to order a supersprox for the Talon hub?

I can't imaging a reason it would be removed. I certainly haven't taken it down.

However, I can't find it either....

Cheers for that, it doesn't have the exact info I was after but it's still a good read. I do wonder where the one on this site got to though...
