Hepco and Becker engine bars

Anybody tried these ?

They look like they would do a pretty good job of protecting the vulnerable water pump and the complete side of the bike.

I have a fried that had them fitted and I'll probably buy those too. They look good on the bike, build quality is good and protection same. They do protect the water pump too ( some from other manufacturers don't ).

The only thing that bothered me a bit was that I was able to touch them when using the break with my right foot. But once you get used that you'll touch them is no problem.

Also, if you lower your brake pedal (to make it better when standing-up) it will be even closer.

Thanks Ive been pleased with it.... done about 9k now. The H&B bars are very good I had a set on my GS and dropped it a couple of times which the bars saved. There also good for hanging things off when camping like camelbacks and odds and sods plus drying stuff

im in the same boat as nick here

im thinking the engine bars are not as good around the pump as the
o/e stuff and adv spec ect ect but look great for the rad and bodywork
to state the bleedin obvious

ive heard of a few water pump mishaps and only one burst radiator ..but hey he didnt half work for it
still undecided
anyway here a site ive used quite a bit

http://www.biker-discount.co.uk/yama...100-2439-p.asp

they have the crashbars at 139.99 inc vat

ill be honest i think if i could get the givi crash bars to work with the bash plate
and engine bars we would be getting the best of both worlds .. if you can see what i mean
a bit of jiggery pokery required though

simple mild steel clamps a hacksaw and a12cans of stella will help :icon_idea:

whats obviosly good with the givi ..is obviosly bad compared to the motech .and vice versa

. devil and deep blue sea
but if the two companys merged we would be laughing ..

SW Motech

I have one of these and they already worth the euros I paid for it.:notworthy:

I see too the one from Givi but, the SW-Motech are stronger.

I have already a fall and they protect the way they should.

I also have SW-Motech bars.
Prevented a crushed fuel tank a couple months ago.
I crashed into a wooden beam that was placed across a sandy road.
