Your Thoughts on what i'm about to do?

Hi guy as im sure im not the only one im a little short of the old wonga and have wanted to get a set of pipes for my Ten, so rather than spend 400+ on a branded set, im going to gut and re-pack the standard exhaust.

Im planning on doing it at my uncle's workshop in the next few weeks, ill take and upload some pics, before, during and after. Also would be good to know if anyone has tryed this before and wether or not they encounted any problems.

Any advice on this would be great.

cheers
Ben.

hi ben, tim de-catted his silencer and did a write up with pictures in http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?...ight=stainless worth a look if only to give you a lay out of the internals

have you considered a single can? the type i used can be easily picked up on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lazer-Produro-...item35af196691 my write up is near the bottom on http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?...ighlight=paddy might be worth a look as the original unit is so heavy

To be completly honest i love the look of the standard setup and to me the look of pretty much any exhaust setup you can buy looks completly alien on the bike (the main reason im keeping the standard setup)

Im also in the process of making a set of panniers out of old jerry cans, 20l each which aint bad considering they weigh next to nothing and cost nothing.
