It's funny isn't it, different peoples opinions of helmets. The Airoh S4 doesn't really fit my head very well which was a pity as I really liked it. Liked the HJC but it didn't feel secure. After trying on every lid at my local Hein Gericke I ended up with a Shoei Hornet, which is superb but then it's in a completely different league price-wise. I wish I had a normal-shaped head (or perhaps I'm just a bit over-fussy)

Now I'm looking at getting a flip-front for road-touring as the Hornet causes buffeting on the Z at higher speeds, even with a taller screen fitted. God knows what I'll end up buying this time round.

Very subjective subject, helmets.
I am generally a fan of Shoei and would have gone for the Hornet if I didn't already have two other helmets - justifying the expense of a Hornet to my wife while having the other two would have been like throwing myself onto a bed of nails from a high flying aeroplane.
I have an Arai full face and a Schuberth flip front - I prefer the flip front for the off road side when things get a bit energetic and the sweat begins to flow - The problem with the Schuberth is that a small movement of the head brings the front crashing down - particularly annoying with a hot drink in your hand or a fag in your mouth.
My mate rates the Shoei Multitech which has a more positive locking action in the up position - not cheap.
For me the HJC will be a kind of comprimise between an open face, flip front and a full face - if that makes sense!!

I have the shark flip front, and the chin protection locks back. I've never really felt comfortable in it. It's almost bi-sexual, not sure what it wants to be.

But yes, helmets totally subjective

Ive had one of those and when i had my sv650 i had a a sportier model they are very good helmets for the price be aware that they are very heavy, to give you an example the cs-12 i had was exactly twice the weight of my airoh that i use now.
