Chain Link size?

Can't find the chain link size on the original chain - does anyone know what the size is for a spare link?

uberthumper 10-12-10 13:19

Make sure you get the same one as the chain manufacturer ,different marques use different diameter pins so might not fit

Very much this, and also don't be tempted to fit a split pin fishplate. The rollers will shred it.

A what??

Can anyone recommend a site where I can get a brief education in bike chains? It's something I don't have any knowledge of but really need to learn.

There are so many variations of chains now x-ring ,o-ring z-ring ,with loads of different manufacturers ,it comes down to personal choice and what others with the same bike recommend ,just dont go for the cheap option as they stretch very quickly and are prone to snapping and damaging the engine cases .Where possible always fit a soft link if you can but carry a spare split link just incase

Sooooo, is the stock Tenere a 520 O-ring chain ??

So is this what I need to fix my chain if a link broke ?

Thats the type ,not sure what make the original chain is on the Tenere though ,you must get the one that matches .ie: D.I.D ,Regina or similar
