Yam bash plate/engine guard

im looking to get one for my ten, but theres one thing that been bugging me do the yamaha genuine bash plate and engine guards come as a set or are they sold seperatly, because ive seen some bikes with one but not the other and directly from yamaha thier 98.

They are sold seperately, but to my knowledge the engine guards are out of production because of all of the problems with cracking. I would personally recommend Adventure-spec for their engine guard / bash plate combination which I had on my Ten before it was stolen. I now have a new Ten and will definately be getting one again once I have funds.

Hi,
Picked up a new ten from Colin Appleyards in Leeds the other week and went straight round to Adventure-spec's place. The bash plate and bars combination is the dog's dooodaaahhhhs - Well made and looks good

Nice one Fiddich, as you say they are an excellent bit of kit, very durable and look go . The main point is that they fully protect the waterpump, which was my main concern as well as having very sturdy mountings. I know from my previous experience with the last one that they can take some quite severe abuse.!:unibrow:

...........and do you know that if you want to stretch your legs for a few mins you can rest your feet on them and pretend to be a feet forward H****y rider:notworthy:

The Adventure Spec one gets the thumbs up from me aswell. Think it works out cheaper than buying a bash plate and bars seperately.

Like you the water pump was a concern - will try the feet forward next time I'm out. I made up my own front rubber mud flap and between that and the bash plate it keeps the crap off the engine/horn/rectifier mounting and exhaust.
Was speaking to Chris at Adventure-spec. I believe they are 'rebranding' at the moment - not sure what changes this will make!
