New Screen Options....

Help needed/advice pleaseage...

Picked up my bike last wenesday, love it!
Had a ride up to me mothers in northumberland on it friday, and back today.
Met peatbog while i was up there, and got mesell a luggage rack.
Now after getting a buffeting on my head, im now after a taller screen.
Is the metal mule a good option?
Or any others out there???

thanks again....:typing[1]:

i was happy with the power bronze screen I got from M&P

I think it is the cheapest screen out there for the Tenere

Suffered the same thing, wind was catching me just under the peak of my lid so I got a Metal Mule screen it's eased the problem considerably.

Still have buffeting probs across my shoulders from time to time though.

For info I'm 6'1" and wear a Hornet DS other heights and lid combinations might be better, or worse

Absolute doddle, did mine today in about ten minutes. I used my mate to pull the bike onto the sidestand and jut undid the two nuts and slid the bolts out. He could adjust the level of the bike to allow me to slide the bolts back through. Easy peasy.:binkybaby:

That's not a problem. Mail me when you get the gear and I'll pop down, a good excuse to ride my bike as I haven't even ridden it yet. I'm only up at Huddersfield and will only be too pleased to help..:039:

will message you when they arrive.

cheers again.

search the forum on 'turbulence' .... and you'll find some other solutions that contribute to a solution. A taller screen alone won't be enough.

Here's what I did: http://www.xt660.com/showpost.php?p=97210&postcount=65

I couldn't get the turbulence on mine sorted.. so I sold it and bought a XT1200Z :laughing11::laughing11:

this a real problem and a great shame on such a good bike. you just have to put up with it it seems.
the GIVI screen seems to be the biggest. tried them all......

I have a handlebar bag on mine to keep keys and phone and side stand puck in. It has done away with the buffeting for me and is usefull too.

hi crusty,

got that bag, and had it fitted since day one. Got the metal mule screen on order and also the lowering kit.

I too had problems with the standard hight screen but cut it down lower rather than getting a bigger one. Works for me.

I bought a Touratech spoiler and all my problems are over:

Fitted a Metal Mule screen today but haven't had a chance to test it yet... watch this space.

For all that has been written about this, one last thing . After 50K miles and having tried everything my mate Ian Hill finally chopped his screen in half and problem solved. There is a big difference between trying to keep the wind off you and creating a smooth air stream. Its very hard to achieve both.

So if you have tried bigger screens try and take the screen off or bite the bullet and cut it.
