Are you running two mudguards on that? nice lights and the bars look boss too. |
Hey mate, cheers for replying. I thought you mentioned halfords when I saw you the other day but it wasnt the best of days I couldnt hear you properly with the rain/wind. Those bars do look good, where are they from?
Also do you have any battery problems with those aux lights on the ten? |

Just replace the bulbs with 35watts ones |
Hi bexman,
Given how appalling the main beam is on the Tenere, I would seriously consider fitting driving lights not fog lights if you want to see where you are going at night! I use these: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...egoryId_165688 and they fit a treat with GULG's brackets. They are a fraction of the cost of HID lights and simpler to install (no ballast) - but most importantly really light up the road. If you just want to be seen better, rather than see where you're going, then you can save a shed load of watts and fit LED lights not halogen. Better still.....fit 'em all!! :headbang: As for battery issues: Driving lights - wire them to the main beam circuit (legal requirement anyway). Use sparingly during day at low speed - at will during high speed night time use. Keep revs up (5k+ rpm) if worried about low battery! LED's - sod all consumption. Wire up as constantly on (side lights/dipped beam). Cheers, Rick |
That's sound advice Rick. Just fitted some Prism quad LEDs as side-lights and they're feckin A! Much brighter than stock & of course reduced power consumption to boot!

Just fitted a pair of these from e bay
12V 24V LED Spotlight Truck Pickup Van Motorhome RV ATV Very bright spotlight ultra small (approx 2 inch diameter) and v low power consumption. I had PIAA before and these are brighter! Approx 50 a pair delivered in 8 working days! Silver or Black housing |
Thanks for all of the advice gents. Mike W, have you got a picture of those on your bike? Do you use them as running lights or fogs? Also what brackets do you use?
|
Nice find Mike :coolsmiley:. Comes as a complete kit with mounts as well.
Just found them on ebay - check out the vids: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/12V-2...-/140452990769 Listing is for a single unit but if it works out at about 50 a pair that's a winner in my book! Only an extra 18w as opposed to an extra 110W for the Ring driving lights. As bexman says: :pics now: Edit: Added link for ebay uk (price in 's)............ http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/12V-24V-LED-Au...item20b3d00752 |
