Will any lump do?

I'm still on my 2005 XTX and have over 30,500 :eusa_dance: miles on the clock. Still running strong as and no issues whatsoever.

So instead of getting another bike I'd rather change the engine if it ever gives up before I do..... So will any lump do:026: or does it have to be a 2005.

any lump will do, cause you'd keep all the same "brainy" parts such as ecu, clocks, throttle etc etc.

Make sure you buy a low mileage one.

Ask this man if he has any, I recommend him, he is one of the few honest bike breakers I know:

Did the 07 engine not have a few different changes to it? maybe these were all comestic not sure.

Im sure the 04-06 range would fit.

Ive currently got 42k miles on my 06XTR and its going well. Was a bit rattley up until around 39k miles then i got the values checked and all was ok again. But the rest of my bike isnt fairing as well, suspension is gone (rear is like riding with a spring), starting to show more and more signs of rust/corrosion (all comestic yes but still want the bike to look good)

Cosmetics' .???.. lol haven't cleaned the bike for years.. love it dirty and rusty, the more the better, always park up next to the shiny bikes at box hill and seem to get some very disapproving looks... well at least I ride mine all year and all over the country to...

All the motors will fit from all years. 08/09 motor have a different head casting numbers to the others, they have seemed to improve the porting as the inlet & exhaust tracks are blended better.
