Muffs are enough to keep my hands dry and warm.

And another +1 for symtec. Very simple to install and basic controls which should last.

I Have Daytona grips. Not that impressed. The low setting is way too low and pointless. I have connected to the aux socket under the dash along with my GPS. The Yam one fit to the aux socket so should be OK and my dealer also agreed.

Not sure why you don't think the aux socket is man enough. The grips generally only draw about 3 amps.

Theroretically its OK as the parking light circuit has a 10A fuse, but the actual wiring to the connector behind the dash is very thin indeed. Also if you rely on the parking light circuit fuse to protect your grips you'll lose your tail light if the grips fail - not good. It's generally accepted that's its best practice to go back to the battery on a separate circuit via a correctly rated dedicated fuse for the grips.

I use these, works great, you can use original grips, because stickers can ho under the original grip. I connected them to parking light. Works great for me.

hi, got to agree with keith, the hot grips do work rather well. much better than the symtec heaters which are just not hot enough for the wet /cold commute.

the main fault with the oxford is the controller it,s pathethic when mine went for the second time[two button type] i simply wired in a on off switch, i guess a resistor wired in to provide a medium heat makes sense just never got round to it.

as for the power bit, the power lead behind the panel is perfectly reliable and controlled by ignition, certainly served me well [25,000mls] just add a 5amp fuse!
