Rectifier troubles - yamaha tenere warrenty job
 

Hello all, i'd just like to give you all a heads up incase you may experiance this same issue that i am.

i got on my 2009 tenere (2,500 current mileage) to head to work, it started fine, was running like it was very low on fuel (not very responsive, sluggish revving) which i thought was strange as i have fuel in the tank, when i stopped at traffic lights with the indicators on, the bike cut out, engine management light came on and the electric start would not work (like a dead battery) so i jump started it off a friends car and got it home...

I called Yamaha assist and they arranged under the warrenty for somone to collect the bike and take it to my local yamaha to be fixed, my tenere has been in the yamaha workshop for 3 days now, it seems the issue is somthing to do with the altenator / Rectifier not recharging the battery when running...
you wouldnt expect this on a motorbike less than a year old, but yeah sh*t happens i guess!

so i am not sure how common this issue is with 2009 tenere's, anyone else had this issue, i looked around the site but couldnt find anything?

Yeah, its the connector from the loom that is not correctly pushed onto the reg/rectifier. This has been quite a problem with some Tens and mine was the first to have a full loom replaced.
Search the site and you will have hours of reading!

Hope your dealer will sort the problem.
