tenere cush drive ?
Hi there guys, been great reading your forum and have a question, if anyone can help, i have 2010 tenere here down under is aussie, My bike now has just gone over 7,000ks and was wondering about the lifespan of the cush drive rubbers,as the bike now has a new vibration it didnt have before, its only really noticable when crusing at around 100k and then accelerate to over take, once i go back to crusing speed it disapears? Any help on this matter would be great.

Welcome.
(I've moved the thread to the Tech Section.)
I'm not sure your vibration sounds like cush drive. That's more or a stutter/jurk when you are changing speed or gear. Cush rubbers lifespan is a little hit and miss, some have seen them go after 3 or 4k miles, my first set lasted 13K miles, but the second set has been packed out (with inner tube rubber) after 4000 miles. It's all a matter of 'how much' they have gone I suspect. |
Grab hold of the rear sprocket & see if there is any free play by moving the sprocket back wards & forwards in the direction that the chain runs. There should be no free play, if there is free play renew the rubers or carry out my rear sprocket rubber mod.
