Campsite recomendations - Gloucestershire / North Somerset

I'm looking for a site to pitch up at in this area, safe (to leave the bike) and with a pub nearby for some food and maybe a glass or two of Cola.
Somewhere within the Gloucester/Swindon/Bristol triangle, or even north to Tewesbury. Any suggestions ? |

Look, I know it's down south, but there must be a halfway decent site that the intepid explorers from XT660 can hold up for the night???
        Anyone ?? |

and never, ever mention Landrovers, less the Toyota brigade (once they've got thier brakes to work) will pounce and leave not a scrap of flesh.... I might aske the question over there, but sometimes it's a bit 'light blue touch paper and stand well back'... |

OK keep your pants on! I've used a camp site at a small village called Mere, Nr Glastonbury. Small place but does have showers, no other facilities. Village has pub and small shop. Very friendly but very basic. That's my input.:pjrflash_Q2CCBE:

       This place-
http://www.brooklodgefarm.com/index....w-to-get-to-us is down near Cheddar I think, maybe too far south?
I know of one over the border that's worth a visit, but obviously not that near your destination? My mum lives in the area you are describing though... |

When/Where are you heading for, you would be more then welcome to stop over at our house, but it is a bit further south then looking.

The area is just a suggestion really, it needs to be 2/3 hours ride south of Warrington but within 2/3 hours of <edit> Plymouth (without motorwayss, or busy dual rubbish). We need a stop-over to meet up (coming from Wales, Ireland, and Northern England) and then meet up with Doug on the Sunday morning (hence the 2/3 hours from Warrington) before heading to Plymouth for the afternoon ferry. If anyone fancies meeting on the Saturday night, then please speak up. |

       Got you.
I've done from my house to Portsmouth in 2 hours avoiding m-ways as much as possible. This- http://www.thehappycampers.co.uk/campsitedetails/71/ is just over the bridge, a little bit north of Chepstow. It's a nice site, quiet, and with a 10min walk to the pub. Nice facilities and fires. |
