KTM Hand Guards
Hi does anyone know if the KTM hand guards fit on the Ten?
|
YES they do. This topic has been discussed at length. Use the search engine in this forum to have a look at how other persons have mounted them on their bikes.:blob5:

I cant find any info on it at all in the forum.

Try putting
'Tenere handguards' into the search facility, loads of information.
I personally run KTM handguards and have no problem with them. I have a butchered pair which are underneath my hand muffs and a full good pair for the summer. Hope this helps.:team[1]: |

It did take some persuasion to get them on as they are very tight against the cross-bar. I also cut a little bit off to give the brake line some more clearance, but that was only necessary because I am very particular about how my brake lever is fitted. |
Well thanks for the help , I managed to get the job done today. Was ok just a little messing around but alls well that ends well i guess.

I love the KTM guards - they are very good value, strong (for plastic) and give good weather protection...
For anyone else interested, as SteveD says, there is plenty of information already on this subject (although it may be that KTM doesn't work on the search facility as it required 4 or more letters?) anyways, I have refitted them to my Tenere after the Acerbis Rally Pros I used on the Heroes-Legend Rally... However, that said, I have just bought a set of Barkbuster Storm handguards for my new rally bike (yeah yeah, pictures shortly), and I must say, they are the best guards I've seen for any bike - metal frames (which are curved on the ends to help you get your hands out quickly), decent sized plastic hand-shields, and symmetrical which appeals to my aesthetic sensibilities... you can get them from Adventure-Spec... (please do, and maybe they will give me some free stuff for my rally campaign x) They are not cheap, but far better and stronger than the Touratech or Acerbis offerings I have to say... http://i492.photobucket.com/albums/r...t/DSC01556.jpg J xx |
