need opinion: 250cc bike mufflers on XT660

hi guys,
i am thinking of change my stock pipes to a pair of cheap end cans (aftermarket) taken from a 250cc single cylinder bike. Is there any harm to my bike if i do so? any side effect?plan to do it on my Pegaso Strada 650, instead of my cousin's xt660.
tq!

Have you ever tried stuffing a quart into a pint pot? might make it pull better at low rpm, I think its going to stuff up the fuelling and suffocate the upper midrange/top end. But with out testing this is just my theory...

What is the size of the inner pipe on the 250 cans?

If the inner pipe is to small, it would be like running around the house with a sock in your mouth you can't breath properly.

Happy Good Friday! I am glad to share with u guys here my most recent mod for my Strada today.

cost of the brand new trioval stainless steel cans(with removable DB killer): 65
workmanship: 40 (3 hours difficult job: piping, bending, welding...)
my personal level of satisfaction: 8/10

pictures:
The can is 7cm shorter and a bit smaller than the stock one.

just wondering if the front pipe will fit the xt

and what do you think about the exhaust from the CRF 250?
inlet diameter is 45mm, so will easily fit into the original pipe.
whether there will be problems with the lambda sensor? will need to remove it?
