has anyone fitted the sm-motech racks and Trax luggage to a XT660z ? they seem a reasonable price compared to other systems ???

I've ordered the topcase, should arrive at the end of the month.

Hello Nelis,

do you have the 37L or 45L panniers?
I'm thinking in getting one set, but I'm afraid the 45L will be an overkill, considering the size of the Ten.

Cheers.

I have the 27L Trax panniers. Plenty large enough for me. The 47L panniers would be significantly wider than the handlebars.

I've had a Trax top case for 4 years. Be wary that the aluminium mounting system wears out quickly; the plates and pegs rub and get sloppy. Mine started rattling after a year and then started detaching itself on a regular basis. I've now done away with the crappy catch and bottom plate and have bolted it straight to the rack.

It also leaked until I sorted it with frame sealant. However, I believe the latest EVO versions have cured this. The mounting system has not been updated though.

Can't comment on the side cases - they may be better?

I've been having the same issue. I'm thinking in placing a rubber between the plate and the topcase. I'm hoping it will fix it.

That'll cure the symptoms for sure and may delay further wear, but in my experience rattling often signals impending doom! ;)
