Hi guys, thanks for your replies. I have a feeling it's dead too, but I'm going to try using thicker leads off the car battery. If that fails....

Hooked it up to the car battery after work, got it started after numerous attempts, raised the rear & put it in gear to get the wheel spinning (not sure if bike charge like cars). After 10 minutes I went for a spin noticed that the rev counter/horn/lights were not working. Turned ignition off...wouldn't start again, not even the neutral light came on. This bike is going to sleep for a long time methinks. Other than draining the petrol tank what else should be done for long term storage?

ps. how do you drain the tank? :D
