Hey guys, I have two tiny questions:

1. Breather = Air filter?
2. What and where is the airbox oil tube? I've recently found some oil in my airbox as well so I'm just curious.

The airbox oil tube is the clear tube that exits at the bottom of the airbox. This tube is commonly called the breather tube. On the early bikes this tube could fill with oil that was spat into the airbox at high revs.

Its not a major issue some dealers replaced the parts some did not. It is only a small amount of oil that comes out. I just put mine into my chain oiler, kinda recycle it.

hope this makes some sense ?

I checked my breather tube today and it's kinda full. So actually this tube shouldn't be full at all? I have a '08 model...

it shouldn't be full, but if you drain it you'll see that it is actually a very small amount of oil in there. So not a major problem either.

Go to your local Yamaha dealer and get them to replace the breather with the new design of the '09 model.

You should check the oil consumption over a longer period to make the right judgement. Mine started using oil after 70.000km, I think I am in for new rings and maybe a new piston. Oil consumption is now 2L/10000km, when it gets worse I need to do some wrenching.
