Modded Regulator / Rectifier and Loom?

I've just been informed by my dealer that my new loom and Regulator / Rectifier have arrived, and are ready to be fitted! :laughing5:
And, what I thought was interesting, it seems that it's different from the original... I'm not sure what's different, but I'll try to find out more when I take it in next Weds. Let's hope whatever fix it is, that it works better than the original!

Pic's would be good.

I've just invested in some ACF 50 (Anti Corrosion Formula) to coat my bikes in. It's supposed to coat electrics so well that they work fully submersded!! The demo in the shop had LED bike light inners, coated in ACF that was flashing away non stop under water! Quite pricey, but if it's as good as the reviews you'll have no worries again..

Coats all surfaces and protects, rather like the Scottoiler FS365 although better I am assured..

I've used this stuff at sea, and even your sandwiches corrode after a day out there! It is very good stuff, yes it costs a bit initially, but you only need one good application and works out cheaper than FSwhateveritis. The trick is NOT to clean the bike though.

Hi Darren, I don't get home until tomorrow, I'm still offshore, but I was planning some "before and after" shots to see any differences. I wonder if this will open the floodgates?

Sound advice - I think I can manage to not clean the bike for a while!!

Not that ive had any problems with the rectifier issue but have recently taken the precaution of wrapping the wires and connector with self amalgamating tape. Have used it for marine purposes before and makes a nice neat job.

Can be obtained from most electrical wholesalers or marine stores.....

It's in the workshop!

I took my bike along this morning for my new loom and regulator rectifier, and got to see the new parts before they went on... the new regulator is exactly the same as the old one (part no. 4XY-81960-00), but the loom, which while looking exactly the same, now has a new number, 11DH25900100 against 11D-H2590-00 for the old one. If you ignore the missing "dashes", the only difference is that "1" inh the new number. Interesting, don't you think?

Maybe, but they must have changed something for the part number to be different. I could always give it a blast with my "Karcher" to see if it leaks...? :030:
