A solution to the power buget ?

I've been in contact with a company who can rewind the stator to give more output.......

I'm waiting for some answers, as they cannot rewind to a specific output, I have asked what they can do, as we don't want to fry the regulator do we? And I've asked for some costs.

The question to you all then is a simple one.

Would a rewind of your stator to give you some more watts be of any interest ? and what would you reasonably pay to have this done ?

I'd be interested , as to how much ? how long is a piece of string and I'll have to read the workshop manual to see how hard /easy a stator swap is.
I think what I'm saying is i'm open to suggestion :D

I'm not having any problems, so i'd rather save the money for some other goodie(s).

Personally, I'd rather use the power to propel me down the road ;)

I once did find a company that rewinds stators & supplies a matching regulator to suit the higher output, it's on the forum somewhere I will try to find again.

I know Trail teck UK do some stator kits, their kits push out around 100W DC, may be we should contact them to see if they will do one for the XT's.

They are just up the road from me, I tried them first, even offered them my bike to get one sorted out, and not to put too fine a point on it, when they did actually respond, they're not interested. The email said

"Sorry we don't do them, try West Country Windings" Who, have been very responsive.
