Chassis no = Year??

Been trying to find out if i have the right ECU on my bike and have come up with a few question, i know they have been asked before (a couple of guys asked the question but i cant find the answer) and i am a little confused..
My bike is registered in Feb 07 on a 56 plate and my chassis no starts and ends like this-
VG5DM011 4956. Could anyone confirm what year my bike is???
On the ECU there is a sticker on the front (red and silver) with the numbers ending in -00, on the back, there is a sticker with a bar code on and the numbers ending in -01 but there is no white dot. Is this the revised ECU??
Kev, i have not been able to take the TPS off yet as dont have the tool, but will let you know when i do.
Any help will be appreciated
Cheers

Hey your bike is very simular to mine. Feb 07 on a 56 plate, chassis no starts and ends:- VG5DM014 9110. ECU ending 00 but again no white dot. :woo::119: I think mines probably a 05 in disguise. :icon_exclaim:

Going by the 00 ECU number, they were fitted on XTX & XTR until late 05 early 06, depending where you live in the world.

What is the full part number that ends with 00 on the ECU, it should be on a silver & blue sticker?

Thanks Capt that will be great.
drb227 i hear you, it seems a few of these are in disguise, i am now thinking mine is an 04 model but hopefully Kev will tell me differently..
Kev the number on the blue and silver sticker is 5VK-8591A-00
It has another sticker on the back with a barcode and numbers
5VK-E9001-10.
Cheers guys

The 00 Ecu with no white dot was fitted to XTX & XTR until late 05 early 06.

Thanks Kev, does that mean that this ecu is a good one??

Well that project went tits up, I am afraid, I did start a thread about it, but people didn't like displaying their chassis number in public so I've deleted it.

You can please some people, but not all of them, sometimes.

Probably the same people who have all their details public on facebook, myspace, or twitter, go figure.

Your Vin number should be 17 digits long, you must have missed some

VG5DM011 4956

What is the full number as we now can decode the vin number?

Digits 1,2,3 are World, Manufacturer, Identifier
Digits 4,5,6,7,8 are Vehicle descriptor Section -- *Somewhat variable based on manufacturer.
Digit 9 is the check digit
Digit 10 is the Year code
Digit 11 is the Factory code
Digits 12,13,14,15,16,17 are the Vehicle Identification Sequence

Cheers Kev, i missed out 5 0's
